Terms & Conditions

This Scholarship Contest is a Game of Skill, not chance, and is governed by the following Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). By entering the Scholarship Contest, you (“Entrant” or “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms and the decisions of Next Generation Insurance Group, LLC d/b/a GradGuard, a Massachusetts limited liability company with offices located at 3219 E. Camelback Road, Suite 455, Phoenix, Arizona 85018 (the “Company”), which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Scholarship Contest.

  1. Eligibility. This Scholarship Contest is open only to individuals who:

    a. Are legal residents of the United States;

    b. Are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry;

    c. Are not employees, officers, or directors of Company or its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, nor members of their immediate families or households;

    d. Will be a full-time student during the Fall 2025 term;

    e. Will be attending an accredited United States college or university during the Fall 2025 term.

  2. How to Enter. To participate, you must:

    a. Submit a video in accordance with the guidelines set forth herein;

    b. Complete the online submission form available at https://hub.gradguard.com/scholarship-application;

    c. Submit your entry by 11:59 PM MST on May 31, 2025.

    d. There is no entry fee or purchase required. Limit: one (1) entry per person.

  3. Nature of Scholarship Contest. This is a contest of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. Judging will be conducted based on pre-determined objective criteria as set forth below.

  4. Entry Requirements and Theme. Your entry must be original, not infringe any third-party rights, and must not contain any unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate content as determined solely by the Company. In addition, each video submission must address the following topics:

    a. The importance of tuition and/or renters insurance; and

    b. The protection of academic and/or personal assets.

  5. Judging Criteria. Judges’ decisions are final and not subject to appeal or review. Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of Company employees based on the following weighted criteria:

    a. Clarity, relevance, and originality of content (40%)

    b. Demonstrated understanding of tuition and renters insurance (40%)

    c. Creativity in presenting the topic (20%)

  6. Winner Notification and Prizes. Winners will be announced on or about June 28, 2025. Prizes will consist of payments made directly to your college or university, the number and value of which will be published on the contest website. All prizes are non-transferable and may not be substituted or exchanged. Winners are solely responsible for applicable taxes, if any.

  7. Intellectual Property Rights and Media Release. By submitting an entry, you agree to the following:

    a. I confirm that I am at least 18 years of age and consent to allow [Company Name] (“Company”), to use my likeness, including the video I am submitting as part of my scholarship application, in accordance with the terms outlined in the media release.

    b. In consideration of my application for a scholarship, I irrevocably grant Company my permission to use the video images, recordings, and other similar media that I submit or have submitted, including all digital and print forms and derivatives thereof (collectively, the “Images”), for any lawful business purpose, without restriction.

    c. I irrevocably assign to Company all rights, title, and interest in and to the Images, including all copyrights, worldwide and in perpetuity. I waive any and all legal and equitable rights relating to claims arising from the use of the Images, including rights of publicity, privacy, and moral rights.

    d. Company may alter, edit, or modify the Images in any manner and use them in any medium, format, or platform, now known or later developed, without additional compensation to me.

  8. Limitation of Liability. By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless Company, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and contractors from any and all liability, injury, loss, or damage arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from:

    a. Participation in the Scholarship Contest;

    b. Acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize;

    c. Company’s use of your submission or likeness.

    d. All prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied.

  9. Privacy. All information submitted is subject to the Company’s Privacy Policy, available at https://gradguard.com/privacy-policy. By entering the Scholarship Contest, you consent to the use of your personal information for the purposes of administering the Scholarship Contest and as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy.

  10. Disqualification and Verification. Company reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that:

    a. Violates these Terms;

    b. Submits plagiarized or inappropriate content;

    c. Attempts to tamper with or undermine the legitimate operation of the Scholarship Contest.

    d. Company may request proof of eligibility, identity, or compliance with these Terms prior to awarding a prize.

  11. Right to Cancel, Modify, or Suspend. Company reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Scholarship Contest if fraud, technical failure, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Scholarship Contest, as determined by Company in its sole discretion.

  12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction. This Scholarship Contest and these Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any legal action relating to the Scholarship Contest must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.

  13. Arbitration and Dispute Resolution. Any disputes or claims arising out of or relating to this Scholarship Contest shall be resolved individually and exclusively by final and binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, to be held in Phoenix, Arizona. You waive the right to participate in a class action or class arbitration.

  14. General. This Scholarship Contest complies with applicable U.S. state and federal laws governing skill-based competitions. Entry constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to these Terms and the decisions of the Company, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Scholarship Contest.
